Forest Science offers two different curricula.

Forest and Land Management forms specialists in sustainable management, conservation and integrated valorisation of forests and natural resources and is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach to forestry. Subjects taught include applied ecology and functioning of natural ecosystems, management of wildlife and insects, biotic and abiotic disturbances and related mitigation tools, applied forestry and forest operations, forest pathology, bio-economy and resource valorization, hydrology and integrated management of erosion in steep slopes. This curriculum is tailored for individuals aspiring to become versatile forestry technicians capable of managing production, soil protection, and water resources while prioritizing the protection of forest ecosystems through sustainable and innovative approaches. Forest Conservation and Governance forms specialists in governance of forests and natural ecosystems. It addresses pressing challenges such as climate change, deforestation, land use change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem services.. The curriculum covers a range of subjects, including the dynamics of natural ecosystems, climate change and forests, management of natural habitats, forestry principles, forest planning, and operations in fragile environments. Additionally, students learn about the production, evaluation, and enhancement of ecosystem services, with a focus on participatory approaches. Other topics include international forestry policy, conflict management, corporate social responsibility, and forest certification. This curriculum is well-suited for individuals seeking to understand complex socio-ecological systems, analyze the interactions between the environment and society, and develop innovative solutions for responsible management practices. It equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable forestry and environmental practices and optimize natural resource management on a global scale.
